Why There’s No Albany Pride in Christmas Pageant
Just a quick note regarding this year's City of Albany Christmas Pageant.

Saturday, 3rd December, 2022

Today, the annual Christmas Pageant will take place in the City of Albany, but unfortunately this year, Albany Pride will not be taking part (despite us winning first prize in the pageant last year!).

This wasn’t a decision we made lightly but was due entirely to our core volunteer base being incredibly busy with the preparations for the upcoming Albany Pride Festival in 2023, and as such there was a lack of volunteers available to take charge of the Pageant – something which we have always prided ourselves in putting an enormous amount of effort into.

As such, Albany Pride are always looking for people to join our volunteer corps, so that when important community events like the Christmas Pageant happen, we’ve got people who are willing to take on the project and deliver something great. Our volunteers are the heart, brains, and muscles of Albany Pride – and there is no job too big or small that we’d love to have people involved in.

So if you’d like to join Albany Pride as a volunteer, we’d love to have you. More information can be found by emailing Hannah, our Volunteer Coordinator: volunteer@albanypride.com.au with your name and a bit of information about yourself.

It is absolutely our intention to be back in the pageant next year (striving for first place again, no less!), so if being involved in the Pageant is something you might be interested in, get in touch!

We hope you all enjoy the Pageant today, and we wish you all a very merry festive period over Christmas and New Year!

Lots of love,

Albany Pride
